I don’t know exactly what I did, I just went into combat mode said Richard Fierro, who was a Major in the Army but just calls himself an ‘old soldier.’
As bullets sprayed he saw the gunman move through the bar toward a door leading to a patio where dozens had fled. He raced across the room, grabbed the gunman by a handle on the back of his body armor, pulled him to the floor and jumped on top of him. I grabbed the gun out of his hand and just started hitting him in the head, over and over. Fierro yelled for others to help him. Thomas James, a bartender, grabbed the AK-15 and moved it away. A trans woman then stomped on the gunman’s head over and over with high heels. The whole time Fierro kept pummeling the shooter’s head, the only part of his body that wasn’t protected by combat gear. When police arrived 6 minutes later the gunman was no longer struggling. Fierro said he thought he had killed him.
Say their names. Daniel Aston, Kelly Loving, Ashley Paugh, Derrick Rump and Raymond Green Vance. An old soldier, a bartender and a trans woman armed only with high heels and fierce courage took the shooter down before he could continue his killing rampage. Tell me again how people need AK-15’s to protect themselves.
